Abhishek Katrina Fresh Bollywood Pair

Now Abhishek Bachchan and Katrina Kaif are about to reunite as an on-screen pair in almost three films.

They have signed Tarun Mansukhani’s 'Dostana 2' which would be followed by Rajkumar Santoshi’s comedy and Vipul Shah’s next.

Director Rajkumar Santoshi is quite well known for his quirky comedies.

After ‘Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani,' Santoshi is back with yet another comedy film starring Abhishek and Katrina in the lead.

Santoshi says, “I am really looking forward to directing him [Abhishek] for the first time. There's a very mischievous side to his personality, which has not been tapped in any film. When I wrote this script I thought of him immediately."

Again Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham will play lead characters in the gay-comedy ‘Dostana 2.’ Katrina Kaif has also been signed in to play the love interest of the two characters in the film.

Produced by Karan Johar, ’Dostan 2’ might release in the second half of this year.

Katrina eager to work with Junior B
Earlier gossip columns were abuzz with rumors that Katrina had refused to act opposite Abhishek in Abbas-Mustan’s official remake of ‘Italian Job’ and had left the project citing date problems.

But now after signing consecutive films with Abhishek, Katrina has put all rumors to rest about her being reluctant to work with Junior B.

Katrina says, "I had done one of my earliest films (Sarkar) with Abhishek. And it was great fun. Somehow subsequent projects didn't work out.”

She feels that she hardly knows Abhishek as both were complete different persons when they had first shared their screen space in ‘Sarkar’.

Katrina says, “Now that we’ll be doing so much work together I guess the process of getting to know one another will happen automatically.”

Vidya Balan in Dum Maro Dum

Time for an encore by Vidya Balan and Abhishek Bachchan? Yup! The duo that shone together in Guru (she played his muh-boli sister) and followed it up with a terrific act in Paa are now teaming up again for Rohan Sippy’s film Dum Maaro Dum.

We hear Vidya has been approached to play a cameo opposite Abhishek in the film.

Vidya’s performance and chemistry with Abhi in Paa must have influenced Sippy’s decision to rope her in the film.

The cameo required a lady with very Indian looks and Vidya fitted the bill perfectly. Moreover, the actress has liked her role, though small, in the film that’s already sparked a lot of curiosity because of its trippy title and an interesting cast ensemble.

Raavan failed to live up to its acceptation

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan starrer Raavan was counted amongst the most awaited movies of the year 2010, however the movie failed to live up to its acceptation and recieved a lukewarm response on its opening day.

Multiplexes recorded a 50% to 70% opening and single screen theatres witness a 20% to 30% opening.

Even in Mumbai which fares the best in Multiplex area on opening day, the response to the movie was dissapointing. Previously movies like Kites and Rajneeti had a great start.

Aishwarya Abhishek at Raavan Delhi Promotion

After breaking the Guinness world record for maximum public appearances in 12 hours while promoting 'Delhi 6' last year, actor Abhishek Bachchan hopped to 10 different locations in Mumbai Saturday to promote Mani Ratnam's 'Raavan'.

The actor toured the city with an entourage of six dancers dressed as characters in the song 'Thok di killi' from 'Raavan' and attracted crowds since morning.

'This is amazing! Mumbai! You guys are the best. Love all of you,' Abhishek posted on his Twitter page during his tour.

'Aishwarya Abhishek heading to town for the 'Raavan' tour. Let's see how many Beera lookalikes Mumbai has. Delhi, I'm coming for you tomorrow! Till I get there, gonna blast Beera beera,' he added.

The locations on his schedule in Mumbai included - Metro Cinemas (near Churchgate), Kalaghoda, Wilson College, Phoenix Mills, Bandstand, Juhu, Mithibai College, Inorbit Mall (Malad) and Cinemax (Versova).

The actor was also supposed to visit Flora Fountain. However, the sound equipment to be used for the promotion was picked up from the location by police as it is considered a silent zone. So the team skipped the location.

Abhishek was rejoicing while meeting and greeting his fans on his way in an open trailer. He also threw goodies like 'Raavan' keychains and T-shirts to his fans, who merrily joined in the fun.

The promotional stint did not cause any traffic jams thanks to four cars of security and police personnel accompanying the 34-year-old star.

In 2009, he did a whirlwind, seven-city tour for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's 'Delhi-6'.

In 'Raavan', which releases Friday, Abhishek plays the role of Beera. The movie, co-produced by Reliance BIG Pictures and Madras Talkies, also features Aishwarya Rai as a dance teacher who is happily married to a policeman, played by Tamil superstar Vikram, and shows how Beera causes mayhem in their lives.

The Raavan Cocktail Party was attended by the cast of Raavan. Both Abhishek and Vikram wore suits to the event and Aishwarya wore a baby pink lace net saree.

Aishwarya Rai (Ragini) Pleads in Raavan Trailor-2

Reliance Big Picture have released the theatrical trailer for their anxiously awaited Mani Ratnam helmed film Raavan, headlining Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai.

The new trailer builds on the earlier teaser and has more footage devoted to Aishwarya (Ragini) and her on screen husband, South star Vikram (Dev Pratap Sharma).

Dev Pratap represents the long and heavy arm of law in brutal pursuit of outlaw fugitive Beera Munda (Abhishek Bachchan), who has abducted his wife.

The trailer opens with a dramatic sequence that shows an enraged Ragini’s challenge and plead with her captor Beera who is set to kill her.

Beera’s much hyped 90′ dive into the fast flowing waters of the Cauvery river has been included again. It is followed by a chase sequence that has Dev Pratap and his posse in hot pursuit of Beera through the jungles.

The trailer ends with dark action sequences of Beera and Vikram Pratap clashing that are capped by glimpses of a burgeoning romance between Ragini and Beera as she starts to see Beera in a different light.

Pretty heady stuff, if you ask us. But hey, take a look for yourself.

Abhishek Bachchan horrific in Raavan first look

Raavan's first look trailer and video both suggest that the long wait for the film has been worth it.

The first looks focus entirely on Abhishek and he makes quite an impression.

We have yet to catch a glimpse of Aishwarya in the film. When we do, we are sure it will take our breath away.




Aishwarya and Abhishek are reportedly both in the US to celebrate their third wedding anniversary on April 20.

Considering that volcanic ash is continuing to obscure the European skies, they are likely to have arrived in California flying eastwards.

They will be back in Mumbai by April 24 for the music release of Raavan.

Ritesh to star in Dostana Sequel

Ritesh Deshmukh will be playing a gay in the sequel of Dostana. The talented actor is not replacing Abhishek Bachchan or John Abraham in the film. In fact, he will be paired-opposite another male-actor which makes it two gay couples in Dostana 2.

Karan Johar will start shooting the sequel to Dostana, a light-hearted tale about three friends, this summer with final star cast Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham once again in the lead. Katrina Kaif has replaced Priyanka Chopra who was heard to be very disappointed on hearing the news.

As far as Ritesh is concerned, its’ a double celebration for him for once his dream has definitely come true and of course, he is going to work with his idol’s Shahrukh Khan’s close friend.

“A thunderous and prolonged applause at the end of a scene that I perform towards the end of the film, moved me to tears.”

Plot
Paa tells the story of an intelligent and witty 13-year-old boy, Auro (Amitabh Bachchan), who suffers from progeria, an extremely rare genetic disorder wherein symptoms resembling aspects of aging are manifested at an early age. Mentally he is 13, very normal, but physically he looks 5 times older. In spite of his condition, Auro is a very happy boy.

Auro lives with his mother Vidya (Vidya Balan), a gynaecologist. He is unaware that idealistic young MP Amol Arte (Abhishek Bachchan) is his father, who had had a relationship with his mother while the two were students at Cambridge University. Amol, is young, progressive and a full of ideals, politician. He is out to prove to the world that 'politics' is not a bad word. He is a man with a mission.

After Arte meets Auro, whom he does not know is his son, at an event at the upscale Prince Edward VII School in Lucknow, the two develop an unlikely and occasionally difficult friendship, to Vidya's dismay. Auro eventually learns the truth, keeping it from Arte as he comes to grips with it himself.

Paa is a 'rare' story about a father-son, son-father relationship. Paa has a loud and clear message for everyone, everywhere in the world, for the change. "Be the change, You want to see".

Aishwarya Abhishek signed up for Rs 25 crore for soap ad

If any further proof was needed that Aishwarya Rai - Abhishek Bachchan are the hottest couple in Bollywood, then look no further than this. Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have been apparently signed up for an amazing Rs 25 crore to feature in a soap ad.



The deal was under finalisation for the past few days, but had been kept secret.

The company and its advertising agency were very keen to have both Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek together in the soap ad and they had been negotiating with them for some time now.

In India, brand endorsements by celebrities, especially Bollywood stars ensures the necessary brand visibility for the product.

Since Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek have done a few films together which were hits and have Mani Ratnam's next movie 'Raavan' lining up for release in a short time, the ad filmmakers very quite keen to sign them up.

This is the first time that Aishwarya Rai will be seen in a commercial with husband Abhishek.

The soap commercial will be filmed abroad.
