Hrithik Roshan, Bipasha Basu - Vogue May 2008
Bipasha Basu makes her second appearence for Vogue India in the May 2008 edition. Hrithik Roshan has also shot for the cover of fashion magazine Vogue exclusively for men. (Click to enlarge images)

When Vogue decided to launch Vogue India Man, its men's supplement, it chose none other than the hunk Hrithik Roshan. Vogue India Man is a 75-page supplement that touches upon fashion, cars, clothes, watches, grooming products and gadgets tips for every man.
“It’s a paradox of sorts because I am not conversant with fashion at all. I hope they know what they’re doing. They have me on the cover,” says Hrithik. However, the actor who’s known to be a sharp dresser doesn’t care too much for the style icon tag.
“I get away with some help from friends in the fashion industry,” says the actor.
The Editor of Vogue India, Priya Tanna is certainly all praises for Hrithik. “He has been stylish right from the start. No matter if his movies do well or they don’t, people have always noticed him and given him attention,” says Priya.
For Bipasha, the shoot was a step back into her modeling days. “It is always great to be modeling,” says Bipasha. “I don’t really care about competition. However, having a good looking guy walking up and down and getting to see him so often, is a treat,” says Bipasha.

Gauri Khan on Vogue India cover
Shah Rukh Khan's wife, Gauri Khan, has been chosen as the cover girl of Vogue India for its January edition. The issue will hit newsstands on December 20.

The pictures were shot against the eight-floor extension of the Khans' sprawling home, Mannat.
'This is not my profession,' Gauri said. 'It has to be something really new and unusual to make me want to do something like this. I did enjoy the shoot but to be honest, I wouldn't do it very often."

'This is not my profession,' Gauri said. 'It has to be something really new and unusual to make me want to do something like this. I did enjoy the shoot but to be honest, I wouldn't do it very often."

"This collaboration between Gauri and Vogue India is a natural fit," says Priya Tanna, Editor Vogue India. "It is her first solo cover and a coup of sorts for Vogue. That she is stylish, enigmatic, and poised is known, but at the shoot we saw another side of her, that of a cover girl. Even in the frames she shares with Shah Rukh, she holds her own impressively. She offers delightful peeks into her life, her wardrobe and her man. Gauri is a true Voguette."
Gauri is that rare breed: a woman so comfortable in her own skin that she dresses only for herself. “Her look has really evolved over the last few years,” says close friend Karan Johar. She’s really come into her own, and in my mind is the most stylish woman in India. Gauri has this amazing ability to put things together – she has a great eye.”

Adds London-based photographer Chris Craymer, “Gauri is very charming and has great personal style. She has the great gift of being self assured and confident in front of the camera, and off-set has a great sense of humor.” Adds Chris, “Gauri looked amazing. After meeting her and Shah Rukh I am eager to watch an Indian film.”
