SHILPA SHETTY BOUGHT A NEW HOUSE IN BRITAIN

Apart from wanting to visit his dying enemy-is-friend Jade Goody, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's hidden reasons for a recent visit are outside London. The starlet is going to Great Britain to buy a house.Shilpa recently bought a house in Weybridge in Surrey, south-east London, and is eager to marry and have children and brought them into the new house. "I believe in the institution of marriage ... I'm dying to have children, and when you see the Weybridge home, is enormous, it is a great family home, then I can not wait to bring the children here, "said.She Shilpa is dating a London based Indian millionaire Raj Kundra.Shilpa is gone to London, but March 15 Goody visit is not checked because of family objections. Shilpa Shetty anniversary gift

It seems that marriage is showering bliss on leggy lass Shilpa Shetty. She had a surprise gift awaiting her on her first wedding anniversary when hubby Raj Kundra gifted her a luxury apartment on the ninetieth floor of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, Dubai. Burj Khalifa is a skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and IS the tallest man-made structure ever built, at 828 m with 160 floors. The world’s highest swimming pool is located on the 76th floor.

Shilpa had visited Dubai a few months ago, had loved the building and expressed a wish of staying there. Raj just grabbed the opportunity to express his love and gifted the keys to Shilpa in Mumbai a week ago.

Shilpa and Raj have taken three days off from work to celebrate their first wedding anniversary there. Shetty will design the interior of the apartment while she’s there. She then heads to Bangkok to shoot a shampoo ad on November 26.

However, the trip had its flips too. Shilpa was down with 103 degree temperature on Saturday night owing to pharyngitis. Though the fever waned by Sunday evening, she had a sore and choked throat when she finally left on Monday morning.

SRK-KJo to host IPL Awards

Shahrukh Khan and Karan Johar have co-hosted many Bollywood award functions in the past and now for the first time ever the duo will be seen hosting the grand IPL Awards scheduled to take place on April 23rd in Mumbai this year. The announcement was made by IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi at a function in Mumbai yesterday.



With the whole nation being gripped by the IPL frenzy, the organizers have decided to come up with the first ever IPL Awards which will recognize the best performances and honour the best players of the IPL. Some of the categories are Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best Fielder, Best IPL Debutante, Most Consistent Performer, Most Dramatic Performance and Breakthrough Performance.

The evening will be a fusion of cricketing and entertainment excellence, with some of India's biggest names, including AR Rahman, Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan, set to deliver their trademark energy and style. Besides, the event will also feature performances by some leading cricketers, who will show they are equally talented off the field too.

The winners in these categories will be selected by an esteemed jury comprising of Lalit Modi, Sunil Gavaskar, Brian Lara, Harsha Bhogle, Javagal Srinath and umpire Simon Taufel. Apart from the jury awards there is also a separate section for the Viewers' Choice Awards where cricket fans will get to vote for their favorite performers from the IPL.

Shilpa Shetty took off with her latest venture, a new club in Mumbai with her businessman hubby, Raj Kundra. The launch of the club, Royalty had her friends and colleagues from the B-town like Sanjay Dutt, Manyata Dutt, Fardeen Khan, David Dhawan, Amisha Patel, Karan Johar in the guest list. In spite Rajasthan Royals’ loss, Shilpa was all geared up to celebrate the opening of her club.

Since making her debut in the film Baazigar (1993), Shilpa Shetty has appeared in nearly 40 Bollywood, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films, her first leading role being in the 1994 Aag. Although she has been through years of decline during her career, Shetty has been willing to reinvent herself quite often. Her performances in Dhadkan (2000) and Rishtey (2002) were appreciated, while her portrayal of an AIDS patient in Phir Milenge (2004) won her many accolades. Her younger sister Shamita Shetty is also a Bollywood film actress.









Shetty has been embroiled in various controversies including suspected mafia links. In 2006 she was issued with a warrant on charges of obscenity. After taking part in the British Celebrity Big Brother TV show in 2007, Shetty was crowned the winner with 63% of the final vote, after an international racism controversy involving her and fellow contestants Jade Goody, Jo O'Meara and Danielle Lloyd. This was followed by a re-establishment of her status in the film industry in 2007 when she appeared in two successive movies, Life in a... Metro and Apne, with her performance in the former drawing positive reviews.

Shamita to skip Shilpa’s wedding for Bigg Boss 3.

Shilpa Shetty got engaged last week and is preparing for her wedding that will take place next month, however sister Shamita is stuck up in the Bigg Brother’s house and she might miss Shilpa’s wedding.

A source from Colors says, “Shamita has not been told anything about Shilpa’s engagement or the marriage in the last week of November. As far Shamita knows, the marriage was supposed to happen in December after the show was over.”

Apparently Shilpa,an ex-host with Bigg Boss,will meet the Bigg Boss producers this week and will ask them to evict Shamita out of the house so that she can attend her wedding.

The source says, “There’s a provision for a house-mate to be brought out in a case of an extreme emergency. It happened with Jade Goody last year. But does a sister’s unscheduled wedding qualify as a family crisis? We’re now wondering if the same rule as Jade can be applied to Shamita’s case.”

“After meeting Shilpa this weekend we’ll work out a strategy on Shamita’s eviction.”If an unexpected turn of events helps us boost our TRPs, we’re certainly not shy of putting it on camera. We did with Jade Goody. We’ll do it with Shamita.”The rest is up to Shamita. Once we’re sure she can be evicted whether she decides to come out or stay in the House is entirely her decision.”

Host Amitabh Bachchan will inform Shamita about her sister’s engagement and her upcoming marriage.

Shilpa-Raj kundra to get engaged tomorrow

Sultry actress Shilpa Shetty will get engaged to her long time boyfriend industrialist Raj Kundra tomorrow.

"A source reveals,”The engagement ceremony will be a simple and private one held at Raj’s 7th floor flat in Juhu. It’s very hush-hush and only close family and friends will attend. Shilpa and her family have decided to go ahead with engagement date after much deliberation and consultation with family astrologers, including her mother Sunanda."

"Shilpa apparently was a bit reluctant to get engaged without sister Shamita, who is in Bigg Boss house, . “Shilpa was keen that Shamita too be a part of such a special event in her life but the time is extremely auspicious. Finally, she gave in to the pressure,” says the source."

"Shilpa will be wearing a Manish Malhotra saree for her engagement, “The saree is simple with no embellishments like crystals or zari work, but a thin gold border. The choli is vintage and in different shades of gold with gold tassels. The saree has been deliberately kept simple as Shilpa will be wearing heavy rubies, diamonds and emeralds in ornaments designed by Anmol Jewellers,” the source adds."
